25 weeks

Breaking news: I must sadly report that I am no longer in the "never had a cavity" club.  I have been kinda paranoid about getting cavities and sore/swollen gums during pregnancy, so I have been brushing and flossing more regularly than ever.  Isn't it ironic that I now have 2, yes TWO, cavities on my lower back molars - one on each side?  Now, saying that, they are tiny and he'll just drill it, fill it and not have to give me a shot.  However, my pride is shot.  I'm hearing that many people get their first cavity during pregnancy, but my dentist denies any medical relevance.  Agree to disagree ;)

This week Miss Toot has recognizable hair color and texture - I wonder if it's dark, curly hair!?  Both are dominant traits, but we shall see :)  That reminds me of this verse and I'm being very cheesy here: Matthew 10:30 "But even the hairs of your head are all numbered."  But isn't that neat that God knows and created everything...even down to the dang hair follicle?  Now, through this whole pregnancy process - who could not believe there is a mighty creator God!?   Anyway, back to baby - She will more than likely have gray blue eyes because both Luke and I have that recessive trait.  It's fun to think about!  I'm thinking this past month I had a good growth spurt and we are probably slowing down some this week.  She is gaining some cute baby fat rolls this week :)  And so have I...haha:
After Luke's test this past weekend we both kinda vegged.  It's nice to have that big fat test out of the way!  We won't find out the results for months...bummer!  So, for now, we'll just focus on the now and that's spending as much time together as we can with just us - I got a little emotional about that recently!  I really cherish my relationship with Luke and want to put that first (after God of course) after Miss Toot comes, but I know it's difficult to make time for.  With all these worries of not having my normalcy I keep reminding myself (and my friend Katie Ryan has reminded me) - with God's grace alone!

We did get the bookshelf cleaned off and all the books packed away to the attic that we don't need instant access to (i.e. yearbooks, college textbooks, etc).  We are going to work on it some more this weekend.  In other nursery news, I'm still as confused as ever on fabrics.  The aqua chevron does not match the aqua in the bird print - back to the drawing boards!  So now I'm waiting on the sample of the floral fabric to see if I like it and may pair it with a black and white chevron.  In that case, I may order the glider with black piping instead of white.  But since this is a huge purchase and I'm wanting to use if for years down the road I'm kinda nervous about that.  Is white piping less trendy/more classic?  Or is he pop of black a really great outline of this chair's awesome lines? This really isn't a big deal, but it's fun!  Here's another Mood Board to picture those changes:
So, my biggest question is which color piping?

Also, I'm considering this 5x7 white rug - any opinions?  Or other suggestions?

I received the newborn headband bow and infant cap w/ bow for "going home" that I talked about here in the mail this past week - yay!  I have to give props to my friend, Kristen England's Etsy.com shop: To Sweet Pea from Me.  She's great!  She has a precious little girl named Georgia and when they were packing up the goodies I ordered Georgia handed her the precious crochet beanie that I originally wanted, but decided on the infant cap instead, so they gifted it to me!  So sweet!!

My sweet cousin Stacy dropped by her heart doppler for us to borrow and check on Miss Toot whenever we feel like it!  It's sweet for Luke to hear since he doesn't go to all of the Dr. appointments with me to hear her sweet sign of life :)

And there is a dress you got from Target in a few posts below... you will see it on Josephine in an album I have on FB of a Family Session we had done for us by our friend Laura Reaux! We definitely have similar taste!

  2. I love the black piping but forewarning. All white things become DIRTY! All things become dirty ha. Spit up, spills, dirty hands you name it. :)

  3. I love the newest mood board for your nursery, I think it's my favorite so far! I think the black piping on the chair is beautiful, you are so right, it does show off the awesome lines!! I'm sorry to hear that you have your first (2) cavities... I've been prone to them all my life and getting them filled is simple/painless. A few years ago I started using ACT restoring mouth wash and I haven't seen a cavity since :-)

  4. Amber - thanks for the comment! I could not find the nursery pics?! I love that we have the same style :)

Rachel - that's exactly what my sister said, and I've tried to keep that in mind, but I didn't know that piping would be a big deal. However, I'm leaning towards the black now.

Alethea - thanks girl! I'm just wondering how the black piping will make the chair pop against my dark gray walls. Hmmm.

  5. Hey Lindsey - I like the white piping on the chair best, but would definitely be worried about it getting dirty. Does the company offer any sort of protective coating on the fabric? If so, I would go for white - seems more classic to me, although the black is striking! I love all your nursery ideas, and actually I think I like the black chevron better than the teal anyway!
