26 weeks

So, I'm 26 weeks.  I'm kinda getting tired about writing about myself on here and want to spend more time revealing my heart and reflecting.  I need to spend more time doing that, so maybe next week you'll get a good dose ;)

However, I do want to keep up with this journal of how I'm  we're feeling.  Miss Toot is enjoying hanging out on my right side.  She has moved up in the world belly and is now liking my right ribs.  A sweet friend, Stacey Hayes, let me borrow her Leach Pregnancy Pillow and it is something amazing!  Thanks for offering and bringing it to me Stacey!  It has lessened my pillow management at night = more ZZZs.  Still waking up around 2AM to pee though.  Also, no stretch marks yet, so might not have any!?  I don't want to speak too soon.  I'm lathering up on the Vaseline Coco butter lotion :)

This past weekend I helped Luke paint the bookshelf for the nursery - yay!  After I did my wonderful duty of painting the corners and edges, and taping off the shelf hook strips (I must say I was very ingenious on how I taped them), I sat there and pulled out the heart doppler for Luke to listen to her heartbeat.  Even though she is hanging out on the right side, or that is where I can feel her more, we are able to find her heartbeat more on the left side of my belly. Here are pics of the bookshelf progress...

Not quite the "after" shot, but you get the idea:
I am waiting to put the shelves in after I figure out what is going to go on each shelf and how much space each shelf will need :)  In addition to painting the bookshelf, we had a fun weekend.  I helped throw a baby shower for my friend Lenox, we went to a wedding for a couple that's new to our Sunday school class, and went on a double date with LeeAnna and James Hungerford (saw the movie Red) on Sunday night!

Fabric update:  Got the floral fabric in...

We have decided that the floral fabric background is too creamy for the white/freshness of the nursery.  Luke's first reaction was that it looked dirty.  I think it would look really good with a nursery with brown furniture.  So....I ordered the bird fabric in sheets and a changing pad cover off of Etsy here!  I am so happy with the choice AND I enjoyed working with the seller, Rebecca.  She was SO easy to work with and helped me so much on fabrics.  I would highly recommend working with her.  She even gave me a $10 discount for the pair.  I feel that custom sheets plus a changing pad cover for $50 is very reasonable!

That small strip of "stone" colored fabric pictured on top of the abacus is the glider main body material.  I have decided to go with the white pipping because it is more timeless.  I realize there is the "white getting dirty" factor, but I figure with the stain and water repellent micro suede material it wouldn't be a big deal to wash down the small amount of piping when needed.  Ordering that today!  Yippee!!  Now I just have to order the black and white chevron fabric for the crib skirt and lamp shade.  I may order extra to cover the fronts of totes to go on the shelves...

I believe I may re-purpose this A line bookshelf that was in the middle bedroom (we replaced it with some new dressers that I will reveal in a later post - "Luke's new dressing room").  I've actually had this bookshelf since high school.  I am thinking the top shelf will hold a small trash can for the day's diapers.  The next shelf a laundry tote and the next ??  I just hate wasting furniture and I will have to work with this and see how it fits.  Here is a quick reveal of it (ignore the hodge podge of items on the dresser and shelf)
So excited this is all coming together more!  We still need to find a rug, but that's about it!  Well, not it, but that's the last major purchase for the nursery :)

Off to Jackson to help throw ANOTHER baby shower :)  This one is for Luke's cousin, Amy, due with a baby boy in January - a month before me.  It will be fun to have another cousin the same age to play with!
