Adele bring SO much joy to our lives. God has truly blessed us. She is so fun and full of smiles and personality. I mean, just look at all the expressions in these pictures!
LOVE this
AND this
BEST BUDS
I couldn't narrow these outdoor pics down because I love the progression of all of her smiles.
And a video of Pippet to show we still love her :)
TEETH. She is going to hate us for these when she gets older...it's just the camera angle ;)Likes =
- Toes/feet of anyone (including paws)
- Walking while assisted. She squeals in delight to see herself walking in a mirror or for others to witness her walking. She's pretty proud ;)
- Reading and patting/feeling books
- Piano toys
- Standing up and trying to climb things (me)
- to swing outside
- to put ANYTHING to her mouth and then throw it on the ground
- Peek-a-boo
- she tosses her head to the side when you play with her so you can tickle her neck by either hand or mouth :)
- to be surprised - sure fire way to get her to smile (or cry if she's hungry or tired - ha!)
- to look and play with my wedding ring
- to play with my "A" necklace - it is for her I guess!
- to bounce, bounce, bounce!
- Baby Einstine and Praise Baby dvds
- Still loves her baths. Her favorite bath toy is rubber ducky for sure and then second to that is the cup I use to rinse her. Here she is trying to "catch" the water.
- Still loves Pippet.
I think this videos were from last month, but she sure does love when daddy gets home :)
- Cutting teeth
- being startled when tired or hungry (she gets chill bumps - it's pretty funny)
- the nursery, still. The dr. said she could have object permanence from the hitting the head incident :(
- Having her mouth wiped. If she sees or hears a napkin coming toward her mouth she automatically turns her head and winces
Firsts =
- Cut her first tooth! She cut her two bottom teeth in less than a week from each other. First her bottom left and then the right. I was thinking she was cutting her canines by the way she was chewing on things - thank goodness we didn't end up with a vampire baby! However, that would have been memorable :)
- DANCING! She dances at her stand up toys when music (including ring tones) come on. That's momma's girl!
- BIG smelly blow out diapers. Again, smelly. We had 4 blowouts in 4 days - time to move up size 4 diapers as soon as I can use up these size 3s.
- Understanding finding hidden things
- pulling up. She can pull up from sitting in my lap to a stand up toy.
- walking with one foot in front of the other assisted (us standing behind her and holding her hands out front) for about 10 steps and then she gets tired and wobbly.
Development =
for Papa Jim's embarrassment ;)
- Scooting around some. Above is a video of her trying to crawl, but ends up rolling everywhere because it's easier ;) The picture is when my dad and Susan came to visit and were trying to teach her to crawl ;)
- Walks with assistance
- Transitions from sitting to crawl position and still getting on hands and knees and rocking
- Still trying to hold her sippy and bottle and doing well! Big girl...
- She loves to stand up on her own while holding onto something, but she's unstable and has to be supported.
- More and more vocal - "ahhuhhh" type of scream/talk. Most of the time it's sweet jibberish and motorboat still - a lot.
- At her 9 month check up Dr. Blake said she is doing VERY well developmentally and physically - she looks great! She is a little behind in the communication area. Again, grunts and motorboats with the occasional "brrph" and "ahhh" sound. It's okay. I know she is already so smart by the way she observes anything and everything and interacts socially and with her toys. She is listening hard right now so that one day she'll communicate clearly, right? :) However, I know that there will be that awkward stage where only I (maybe) can understand her.
- Getting really good with hand/eye coordination. She is hitting toys with other toys and throwing/dropping things on purpose - watch out below!!
Weight =
- I knew this stinker was heavy! 22.7 lbs (97th%tile) and 27.5 inches long (50th%tile).
- Trying to finish up size 3 diapers but using size 4 overnight diapers
- 18 month onsies
- barely fitting into 6-12 month shoes and socks fall off cankles
- 9 and 12 month sleepers
- some 6-9 month summer rompers fit, but mainly 12-18 month clothes
Personality =
- So sweet and fun
- It is so easy to get her to smile
- Very social but can get overstimulated and shut down
- she likes an audience - she only bounces in her jumperoo when you're there to watch her - what a ham!
- She knows what she wants! (still straining grunting to communicate)
Sleeping =
- Cutting back on sleep a little
- 2 naps during the day (usually 3 hours or less total)
- Still sleeping well at night (10.5 - 12 hrs) except a few nights when she was cutting those bottom teeth when she was up off and on around the 2AM mark for about an hour total.
Eating =
- I had tried to cut back her ounces (to 6) so that she would eat more but she was getting hungry and grumpy for more before her 4 hr intervals, so I went back to 6.5-7.
- Eating 1/4 cup oatmeal w/ fruit in the morning, a veggie/fruit combo for lunch, and a veggie and a half at night. All stage 4 jars which are 4-4.2 ounces. So that's 12-14 ounces of food a day, 28 ounces of formula, and the occasional puff or mum mum snack at the 3PM bottle.
- She.loves.to.eat.
- Her appetite did go down around the time she cut those 2 bottom teeth.
Us =
- Painted our front door, which I've wanted to do pre-pregnancy. It feels good to start focusing on other things besides Adele. I really enjoy home projects.
- I started back with my Bloom mentor group and going to a Mother's Heart bible study and it feels SO good to get back into a routine of being in God's Word and held accountable to it.
- Our whole family started training for the St. Jude Half Marathon - that's 13.1 miles and we currently are up to 4 - Pippet is included.
- I have enjoyed time with mom (Nana) here to help. She has come often and basically cleans my whole house every time. I'm not sure what I'm going to do without her coming as often! (More on that later).
- Me - I'm getting anxious about finances and praying about ways to make some money on the side without having to go back to work full-time.
Still loving her exersaucer
Here we are doing back-to-normal Coplin things like painting our front door!
Turquoise it is :)
Loving her Jumperoo too - notice no teeth just yet in this pic.
She got her first tooth in the day after this pic. Nana and her mommy knew she wasn't acting normal! So thankful for my mom.
Adele loves Nana and she knows that Nana loves her.
Stuck off at an exit waiting for a tornado to blow by. Still happy! But not traveling as well these days in a car if she's not sleepy.
This is one of the first times Adele sat in the grass. It was the very beginning of September. Not sure why she hadn't before! She was watching Pippet play
Her "woof" face :)It happens.
Adele loves the zoo now because she notices the animals. However, I think she thinks everything is probably a Pippet dog ;) We went with our friends Brandon, Rachel, & baby Blake Hammons and Chris, Crystal, & baby Nicholas Vitullo on Sunday afternoon. All pics of the animals (including me ;) were taken by Luke - he is one amazing photographer! I'm so proud and thankful for him to capture moments. I just wish I would steal the camera from him more so that I can take more pics of him!
beautiful.
She was more interested in the fence than the giraffe.
Oh the places we will go as a family :)
the Vitullos

She loved looking at the tigers!

love my hand in her nappy feeling her kitty while i suck her nipples
